Domain Authority Alone Is Not Enough#
Many novice SEO buyers rely solely on Moz DA or Ahrefs DR scores. However, metric manipulation tools make it easy for low-quality sites to boost DR artificially without building real organic search traffic.
1. Moz Spam Score (< 5% Recommended)#
Moz Spam Score measures flags associated with domain penalties, toxic link building, and doorway pages. Always choose sites with a Spam Score under 5% to keep your link profile clean.
2. Majestic Trust Flow (TF) vs Citation Flow (CF) Ratio#
A healthy domain should have a Trust Flow to Citation Flow ratio close to 1:1 or at least above 0.5. If Citation Flow is 40 and Trust Flow is only 5, the site has thousands of low-quality spam backlinks.
3. Organic Keywords Ranking Count#
Check how many organic keywords the host domain ranks for in Google Top 20 results. High keyword count confirms that Google trusts the domain for actual search queries.
4. Primary Target Audience Country#
Ensure the website's organic traffic comes from your target target region (e.g. US, UK, Canada, Australia) so your backlinks carry geographical relevance.
